Men at work staying healthy

Health, whilst sometimes out of our control can be maintained and improved through our lifestyle choices. This is important for people both at home and for women and men at work.

Maintaining a healthy body is essential for a long and active life and whilst there are certain elements that are out of our control, such as diseases, there are many things that can be done in order to promote general health. This comes down largely to making sensible lifestyle choices and not only in reference to diet. It is also important to get enough sleep for example and to remember to unwind after a stressful day, allowing time for some R and R. Women and men at work also need to learn how to create a good balance of work and enjoyment time in order to create for themselves a healthy lifestyle.

Of course diet is one of the most important ways in which we can stay healthy and making sensible choices over what we eat and drink can make a real difference. 5 or more portions of fruit and vegetables is important, as is reducing intake of saturated fats. Women and men at work sometimes find it difficult to find time in a hectic work schedule to eat proper meals and choose instead to opt for the quick but often far less healthy option. Obesity is a condition that is becoming more and more common and is currently at an all time high. It can lead to a number of health problems including diabetes, stroke and heart disease.

Over half of the people in the United States to do got enough exercise. A short daily work out does not require a lot of time or money and can make a real difference to an individual’s health. It doesn’t have to be a work out at the gym either as any activity that raises the heart beat will prove effective. This could be swimming, dancing, gardening or even just walking to the shops.

Smoking is a major factor has a big impact on the health of the smoker as well as passive smokers. This is another common trait of women and men at work who smoke as a stress reliever. There are also however many social smokers but the choice to quit will have a big and quick impact on health. Smokers face a 3 times higher risk of dying from heart disease than non-smokers. There is plenty of advice and support groups not available so smokers should take action to quit.

Regular check-ups

There are certain tests and screening that should be performed on a regular basis especially as you get older. Diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure STD’s and cancers can also be checked for routinely, optimizing the chance of catching the condition early when it is easiest to treat. It is also important to have all of the vaccines that are appropriate to you. This may once again relate to women and men at work as certain jobs call for specialized vaccinations.

This category applies to people at home, on holiday and women and men at work.
