High Fiber Foods Top 10 List

Fiber is an essential part of a balanced diet and with so many foods high in fiber itÂ’s surprising that so many Americans consume less than half of the recommended daily intake.

A recent study has revealed that a large percentage of Americans eat less than half of the recommended daily fiber intake. Fiber is an important part of the diet and it is not hard to increase daily intake. The following is a list of the top 10 high fiber foods.

Peas and Beans

Peas and Beans will be at the top of any high fiber foods list containing between 8 and 16 grams of fiber per serving. All peas and beans are better than none but those containing the most fiber include split peas and lentils.


Artichoke is a vegetable that is not only delicious but is also one of the many high fiber foods. It is often used a natural remedy for constipation so a regular serving of artichoke will promote a healthy system.
