Toprol Side Effects

Most people who take Toprol don’t suffer from any side effects at all. When toprol side effects are experienced they are usually minor and resolve themselves after a short period of time.

Most common side effects

Toprol side effects have been studied thoroughly in people suffering from high blood pressure, angina and congestive heart failure in order to discover the most common symptoms. These were revealed to include:

  • A very sudden weight gain or swelling

  • Pain in the chest

  • Feeling dizzy, lightheaded or faint

  • Becoming easily confused

  • An irregular heartbeat

  • Signs associated with an allergic reaction such as hives, itching, a rash, swelling, wheezing and difficulty in swallowing or breathing.

Other toprol side effects

There are some further toprol side effects, which occur so rarely that there has been dispute as to whether they can be passed off as toprol side effects or if they are in fact caused by other factors. These symptoms include:

  • Symptoms of severe allergic reaction

  • Short term memory loss

  • Increased amounts of liver enzymes

  • Insomnia

  • Headaches

  • A ringing sound in one or both ears

  • Peyronie’s disease

  • Hepatitis

  • Low blood sugar

  • Arthritis

  • A sudden or unexplained weight gain

  • Impotence

  • Hair loss

  • Dry eyes

  • Diabetes

  • Worsening symptoms of psoriasis

Everyone taking toprol will experience different symptoms and a varied severity of symptoms from none to serious. There is no way of knowing who will develop side effects of who is most likely to be affected before taking it. If you notice any of the mentioned side effects or if you have any question ask your doctor or health care provider from advice. Any side effect of medical problem can become worse when it is left untreated so it is never a good idea to ignore these things. Even if you just have a feeling that something is not right, it is best to get checked out.
