Urinate at Certain Times Only

You guessed it, this is bladder training. Overactive bladder can be a behavioral issue sometimes. This is easily remedied without any kind of medication. Try to train yourself to urinate at certain times and not whenever you have an urge to. The medical community calls it scheduled voiding. Make notes to yourself and place them in different spots in your place. You can even set up a timer that can remind you at a distance. You’ll need to concentrate on this for a few days but well worth a try. Within a short period of time you will have your bladder trained. Don’t let urination urges run your life. Take control!

Drink Appropriate Beverages Only

Try to drink purified water and/or natural unsweetened juices daily. There is no set amount, just drink when you need to. Certain berry juices are best for example cranberries (no sugar added), blueberry, pomegranate or Acai. These juices contain powerful antioxidants that will help reduce inflammation and fluid build up. Try to avoid coffee, caffeinated teas, alcohol and sodas. You know alcoholic beverages cause you to urinate excessively and lose minerals as well. Stay away from salty foods as this will make you drink more.

Pelvic Floor Exercises

Pelvic floor exercises can be done by both males and females. This involves using the muscles that stop you from urinating. You can actually do this anywhere for example when you are standing, sitting or on the toilet. Next time you are on the toilet, stop you urine mid stream and hold it. Keep practicing this allowing only a small amount of urine to escape. Once you see how this works, you can contract these muscles anywhere even when your sitting or standing. Keep doing this and you’ll find that your muscles get stronger and stronger with time. Stick with it, it really works. You should be able to see a difference within a few days to one week.

If you stick with these treatments, you may find that your overactive bladder will go away. Don’t let bladder problems ruin the quality of your life. Within a weeks time, you should see marked improvement with these 3 simple tips. Good Luck!
