How to burn belly fat

The best method to efficiently burn belly fat is one of the most asked questions in the world of health and diet today. Everyone dreams of a flat, toned belly, in most cases we just don’t know how to go about achieving it whilst continuing to attend to our busy schedules and hectic lifestyles. Reaching that target of having the ultimate sexy stomach doesn’t have to be that hard and with a few tweaks to the lifestyle it can be achieved by anyone. Not only does it not look particularly attractive but a fat belly can be the cause of many health problems so it not only important for your looks but it is also important for your heath to take action and begin to burn belly fat. People with excessive fat over their stomachs, commonly referred to as “apple shaped” have a greater risk if heart disease than “pear shaped” individuals, who store fat in the hips, thighs and bum. There are two types of fat in the stomach area, visceral and subcutaneous. Visceral fat is deep within the body and surrounds and protects out internal organs where as subcutaneous fat is found just under the skin and wobbles when we touch it or jump up and down… this is the belly fat we want to burn! It may not be all that surprising to learn that the best way to burn belly fat is through exercise and eating the right foods. However research is now suggesting that the exercise most effective to burn belly fat is a combination of aerobic exercise and strength training. A study was conducted on two groups who were told to follow different diet plans and fitness regimes. One group followed the traditional food guide pyramid and did cardiovascular exercise for around an hour, 4-6 days a week. The second group ate a high protein, low carb diet and alternated between resistance and cardiovascular exercise each day. Body fat was measured before and after using a dual x-ray absorptiometry, which is an accurate method. After the 12-week program, the second group has lost twice as much belly fat than group 1.

All of this research shows that both diet and the kind of exercise you do really does count. So the first way to burn belly fat…exercise. Unfortunately it can’t be avoided and you should be aiming to do 3 or 4 workout sessions a week combining cardio with resistance training. This doesn’t mean doing hundreds of sit ups and crunches, because although these exercises will build muscle you wont be able to see them until you have lost the belly fat.

Justas important for successfully burning belly fat is to consider the foods you eat. You don’t need to start going crazy about dieting, just remember that you intake less calories than you use, you will burn fat. Keep this in mind when deciding what to eat and remember that getting all the nutrients that your body needs is also important. Finally the last tip to help you burn belly fat is to stay consistent. To lose belly fat and keep the fat off you need to continue to eat well and exercise regularly. Once you have integrated these thing in with your daily routine they should become habit making it much easier for you remain at a fit and healthy weight.
