As with all super foods they have an abundance of antioxidants which is known to enhance the chemical processes which occur in our body every minute of everyday. Antioxidants reduce the risk of these processes becoming flawed and then reduce free radicals which can cause unstable molecules to alter a cell’s structure making it more likely to be the start of a health condition such as kidney disease.

Common antioxidants include lycopene, vitamins C and E, beta carotene and flavonoids.

So if you have kidney disease and are trying to minimize its effects or want to ensure that your kidneys stay healthy then these are the foods that you should be eating.

And cabbage is so easy to prepare and cook, it can be boiled, steamed or microwaved with just a little seasoning or as part of a meal as stuffed cabbage.
