Don’t Make Excuses About Starting an Exercise routine

Exercise is the best treatment you can give your body and the good thing about is anyone can do it and it doesn’t have to cost you a penny.

The benefits of exercise are felt very quickly, there are no excuses for not being able to start an exercise regime:

  • Too Expensive

    – You don’t need to go to a Gym, start walking!

  • I am too overweight

    – Start gently even 5 or 10 minutes a day will make a difference and you can increase the time as you get fitter.

  • I am too shy to be seen in a public place

    – Then exercise at home, buy a DVD or walk up and down the stairs, even better put on your favourite music and dance.

  • I don’t know what to do

    – Pick something you enjoy because you’re most likely to stick at it, swimming, dancing, walking, horse riding, aerobics, they are all enjoyable ways to exercise.

Walking – You don’t need to walk for long to improve your fitness, even half an hour a day will show results and thinking about it that’s only 15 minutes there and 15 minutes back. if you can make the walk a bit longer all the better. Start of gently and try to increase your pace until you feel slightly breathless, hold your tummy in too for an added bonus to those neglected stomach muscles.

Too overweight – for an obese person sudden exercise can be dangerous and it is a good idea to see your doctor who can advise you how to start off. Swimming is good because you are weightless in the water and you won’t feel the strain.

Too shy – In the privacy of your own home, you can set up an exercise routine without anybody seeing you. If you enjoy dancing then get a dance video, or buy an exercise bike and ride while you watch the T.V.

I don’t know what to do – There are loads of things you can do just to get moving, even making yourself stretch and move a bit faster whilst doing the housework. The key is to find something you like doing, make time to do it and enjoy it.

Exercise and your heart

Exercise is so good for your body and even better for your heart, when you are moving the rate the blood pumps through your body increases and more oxygen enters your muscles, your lungs work harder and your pumps faster. However the more exercise you do the lower your resting heartbeat will be and this means that it is not working so hard and therefore it should last longer! Exercise also lowers blood pressure, so if you suffer from hypertension, then some gentle exercise will help your condition.

Increase your stamina

Red blood cells increase when you exercise too and this will improve your blood’s capacity to carry oxygen, which in turn increases stamina and allows you to exercise for longer without becoming tired.

Exercise and weight loss

Exercise is good for both your body and mind and also helps weight loss and weight maintenance. Incorporate some into your daily routine and you will soon feel the benefit.
